N.C. Cooperative Extension Hosts Educational Sessions in Waynesville

Residents of Haywood County eager to enhance their gardening skills have a valuable opportunity through the 'Learn to Grow' series offered by the N.C. Cooperative Extension.

These classes, held at the Haywood County Center located at 589 Raccoon Road in Waynesville, cover a range of topics suitable for both novice and experienced gardeners.

Participants will gain insights into seed selection, improving germination rates, creating optimal growing environments, and understanding the timing for starting seeds and transplanting them into gardens.

The techniques taught are applicable to both annual and perennial flowers, as well as spring and fall vegetables.

Pre-registration is required for each class, with a fee of $10 per session.

Interested individualscan register online by clicking here or by calling 828-456-3575.

Class sizes are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Registration for each class opens approximately one month before the class date.

For those interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener volunteer, attending at least three 'Learn to Grow' classes is a prerequisite.

These sessions provide a solid foundation in gardening practices essential for the volunteer program.

In addition to the 'Learn to Grow' series, the N.C. Cooperative Extension offers free classes at various locations around Haywood County, including the Waynesville and Canton branches of the Haywood County Public Library.

For more information on these classes and other gardening resources, visit the N.C. Cooperative Extension's website or contact their office directly.

Embrace the opportunity to cultivate your gardening knowledge and connect with the local community through these informative sessions.
