The Haywood Holler started as a simple experiment:
Could a local newsletter help people feel more connected to what’s happening around Haywood County?
Within the first few weeks, hundreds of people subscribed, local organizations started sending events, businesses reached out, and neighbors began sharing good news, recommendations, and stories worth telling.
That told us something important:
People are hungry for local connection.
Not outrage.
Not endless doomscrolling.
Not another algorithm deciding what matters.
Just a simple way to discover what’s happening around us.
So we took a little time to rethink what The Holler could become. Not just another email full of links, but a more useful, more local, more community-driven way to keep up with Haywood County.
And today, we’re officially relaunching.
The goal is simple:
Help people find local events, celebrate good things happening around Haywood County, support local businesses, and make it easier to feel connected to the place we call home.
Glad to be back.
