BMX and MTB riders will battle it out for a coveted spot at the World Championships this October. The top four riders in each elite category automatically qualify for Worlds — and event winners receive paid flights and accommodations to compete on the global stage.
Depending on registration numbers, organizers may also add a freestyle community event for riders who use the track in other ways — scooters, skateboards, skates, and even wheelchairs. Stay tuned for updates.
🚴♂️ What Makes This Event Special?
The Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships isn’t just another race series. It’s designed to create a level playing field where local heroes line up against world-class talent.
Qualifiers are happening across the globe in:
Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Nicaragua, Spain, China, Colorado, California, Great Britain, Germany, South Africa, Belgium, France, Sweden, Missouri, Argentina, Slovakia, Malaysia, Italy, Switzerland, Chile — and now… Waynesville, North Carolina.
That puts Haywood County on the same international circuit as Sydney, Sheffield, and Switzerland.
Not bad for our mountain town.
